Pet Protect’s 40-year anniversary celebration.

This year, in November, we mark the 40th anniversary of Pet Protect Pet Insurance and are celebrating 40 years of protecting cats and dogs.

The cover we provide helps to protect pets when they need it the most, by covering the cost of expensive veterinary bills.

Our mission is to not only to cover pets with pet insurance but to also help keep them healthy and happy.

We understand that pets are part of the family and pet owners want the best for their cats and dogs.

Pet Protect was first launched in 1983 with the aim to help customers meet the cost of expensive treatments.

Our specialist background in the veterinary profession still guides us today as we continue to understand the clinical, financial, and emotional impact that a visit to the vet can bring.

• In 2015, Pet Protect were acquired by Pethealth Inc, a Fairfax company based in Ontario, Canada. Their focus helped to support pet health, wellbeing, and safety within the animal welfare space, and we enjoyed many successful years under the Pethealth Inc umbrella.
• In 2021 we partnered with PitPat, the UK’s leading dog activity monitor and provided all new and renewing customers with a PitPat dog activity monitor to help pet owners understand their pet’s exercise and activity levels.
• In 2022, we partnered with Vet Connection to provide pet owners with a service that could help them if their cat or dog became unwell. Our PetConnect 24/7 helpline is included with all of our pet insurance policies and allows pet parents to speak to a vet or vet nurse about their pet’s heath any time, day or night. • The start of 2023 offered exciting news, as we became part of Pinnacle Pet Group. Pinnacle Pet Group is a family of companies which includes Pinnacle Insurance plc, an insurer, and other pet health services.
