Working with Professionals
Over 24 years of working in the Pet Insurance industry has allowed us to forge great working relationships with professionals in the veterinary sector at all levels. We even have our own resident Veterinary advisor, Professor Peter Bedford, ready to offer clinical advice and support wherever and whenever it's need (or, to give him his full title, Peter G C Bedford BVetMed, PhD, DVOphthal, DipECVO, ILTM, FRCVS!).
Peter has won many awards for 'outstanding contributions' to veterinary surgery and small animal medicine and is currently pursuing research into canine eyesight.
We also work closely with the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) and the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA).
The APBC is an international network of experienced and qualified pet behaviour counsellors, who, on referral from veterinary surgeons, treat behaviour problems in dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, horses and other pets. It takes time to establish the cause and develop treatment plans that are suitable for the owner's circumstances, and APBC members are able to offer the time and expertise necessary to achieve these objectives.
The BSAVA exists to promote high scientific and educational standards of small animal medicine and surgery in practice, teaching and research.
The CFBA and the prestigious Middlesex University operate Britain's premier academic courses leading to qualifications in Canine Behaviour and Training.
Sponsorship of the new Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine
The opening of the University of Nottingham's progressive new 'School of Veterinary Medicine and Science' signals an important landmark in the expansion of high quality veterinary training in the UK. The school is the UK's first new Vet school for 50 years, and the first students arrived in September 2006.
