Pet Protect People
Expert knowledge
One of the many things that makes Pet Protect different is the quality of the people that work here.
Our claims team is staffed by veterinary nurses so you'll have access to a real wealth of experience and knowledge every time you call our claims line. Our experience of the industry and clinical procedures means that claims are settled quickly and efficiently.
Our claims team are specialists in dealing with pet insurance claims, so you can be sure your call won't be sandwiched between leaky water tanks and angry drivers.
Some of our people

Ruth
Ruth qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1984 and as a Pet Bereavement Counsellor in 2005 and has worked in private practices and PDSA centres up and down the country. She has also worked at the veterinary teaching hospital at Liverpool University. She used to have a ginger cat called Tiger Feet (named after the song of the same name by 'Mud') who, sadly, has now passed on.

Sam
Sam worked as a Veterinary Nurse for about 9 years in both private practice and a charity clinic before joining Pet Protect. During her time in the charity clinic she worked with many people on social benefit who were unable to afford private veterinary fees, so has first-hand experience of just how much pet insurance can help. She has two lovely guinea pigs called Patty and Selma (named after the delightful aunts from The Simpsons) and has started to grow vegetables for them in her garden before they eat her out of house and home.

Jenny
Jenny is a qualified veterinary nurse who worked for about five years in practice before joining Pet Protect. She has worked for us as a claims assessor for 6 years now. She has two cats: Badger (because he's black and white) and Smokey Robin (not named after Smokey Robinson, the soul singer-songwriter, but because she wanted to call him Smokey and her son wanted to call him Robin!).

Jo
Jo worked as a veterinary nurse for eight years before joining Pet Protect in October 1995. She is quite the pet-lover, having two cats (12 year old brothers Michelin and Dunlop) and five rabbits (three mini Rex, which she bred herself, and two large and very friendly French Lops called Binky and Oggy who have a penchant for crisps and digestives).

Mel
Mel has wanted to work with animals since she can remember. Starting out as a kennel maid 10 days after leaving school at 16, she began training as a Veterinary Nurse and worked her way up to Head Nurse within four years. In 2000, after a further nine years of working as both Head Nurse and Practice Manager, she joined Pet Protect and has been a happy member of our Claims Team ever since.

Rosie
Rosie worked in a vet's practice in her youth and has been at Pet Protect on and off for 15 years. She has a Doberman called Diesel and a Rex rabbit called Moonlight and operates a strict time-share arrangement in the garden to avoid any 'al fresco' rabbit dining temptations Diesel might have. She also has two very large gold fish and three ponies.

Tracy
Tracy has worked for Pet Protect for ten years, having worked in both telesales and customer services. For the last six years she has been working happily for the Claims Team. She has two cats, Boris (10) and Murray (7).

Carol
Carol is a qualified veterinary nurse, and is a fan of rescue animals. She has two cats called Sam and Jazz, a rabbit called MJ, and a parrot called Tylar. All are rescue pets.
